Mother's Day Out

MDO General Information

The Mother's Day Out program meets each Wednesday and Thursday throughout the year from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Children are registered in either the Wednesday or Thursday program, or they can be placed on a waiting/call list. The program is designed to give mothers some free time while their children have the opportunity to interact with other children close in age.

There are two classes each session: one for children birth through three years old, and an older class for those three years through kindergarten. Each class has a recreation time outside (weather permitting) or in the play area located in the church's fellowship hall. The older class also has the opportunity to participate in an art/craft project and a story time each session.

The children bring a packed lunch and any other items needed to meet their needs. Please mark your child's name clearly on each lunch, diaper bag, cup, etc. Forms are provided each week for you to indicate any special instructions needed for your child's care.

Arrival and Departure

Parents are to provide us with the name of persons authorized to pick up your child if someone other than the parent. We will release children to authorized persons only.

Please drive with caution when driving through the parking lot. When picking up your child, you must turn your car off before entering the building or approaching the playground.

Enrollment / Tuition

Enrollment is made by (1) standing reservation for the fall / spring, or summer session; or (2) openings due to occasional cancellations. Payment by check or cash is made upon the arrival of the child at the sign-in desk. Payment is expected unless the parent cancels the day before. Use the MDO enrollment form to register your child.

Clothing

Children need to be dressed to play! Sneakers are most appropriate for the older class and are required for play on the playground equipment. An extra set of clothes is recommended in the event of spills or "accidents."

Illness

Children with a fever, acute cold, vomiting, cough, diarrhea, or sore throat are asked not to attend. Parents will be notified when a child becomes ill at MDO. Because of the risk involved to other children and for the comfort of the sick child, parents are expected to pick their child up promptly.
